Lube spells. I just...hate 'em. I hate how every steamy slash scene has to include someone getting poked in the ass with a wand and a "Lubricus!" or whatever. I mean, assuming there is some sort of special wizarding lubricant, why in the name of all that is holy would it not be a potion?

I posted this to fanficrants back in January, but I think it bears repeating. This is one of the most common tales in HP het--the Pregnancy Story. (Yes, men also get pregnant in HP fanfic, if not in canon, but mpreg is a whole 'nother rant.)

yeah okay, that pretty much covers that cliche.

Perhaps I'm in the minority here. I would prefer to think that I was of some experience, had sampled some of the sensual pleasures of the world, in two words - been around, etc. But I have never, ever, not even once, seen stars, constellations or flashing lights at the point of climax. Is it just me, or is there a regularly-used formula for the Fan Fiction Kiss? Did I miss that lesson?
